NPD investigators work to identify robbery suspects

On Friday, December 18, 2020 at approximately 1:49 a.m., Newbern Police officers responded to a reported armed robbery of the Flash Market located at 600 Highway 77. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the store clerk who told them the store had been robbed.

Power Board OKs bucket truck bid

On Wednesday afternoon, December 16, the Dyersburg Electric System Power Board convened at DES headquarters for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. All power board members, as well as members of the DES Executive Management Team, were present. The agenda featured two items of new business, a bad-debt charge-off and a review of bids for a new bucket truck.

TDH launches COVID-19 vaccination reporting dashboard

The Tennessee Department of Health will provide data on COVID-19 vaccines administered in the state via a new dashboard to be provided online at www.tn.gov/health/cedep/ncov/covid-19-vaccine-information.html. This dashboard will launch Dec. 18 and will be updated each Tuesday and Friday.

Dyer County, Dyersburg schools on winter break

Both the Dyer County and Dyersburg City school systems began their Winter Break upon the conclusion of the school day on Friday. Classes are scheduled to resume for Dyer County students on Monday, January 4, 2021, while Dyersburg students return on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
