Dyer County COVID-19 update for January 6

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Wednesday, the department reported Dyer County as having a total of 4,432 COVID-19 cases, which consist of confirmed and probable cases. Additionally, the TDH said that Dyer County had 360 active cases with 3,997 recoveries/inactive cases.

The Dyersburg City School Board convened Monday evening, January 4, at Dyersburg High School. Board members heard various items of new business, including the report of the 2019-20 audit, an announcement regarding Dyersburg Primary School being selected as a 2021-21 gold level RTI2-B Model Demonstration School, a report noting the number of system employees who had received the COVID-19 vaccine, the upcoming receipt of ESSER funding, as well as a review of numerous policies.

Lady Choctaws fall in overtime to Gibson County

For the second time in under three weeks, four quarters were not enough to decide things between Dyer County and Gibson County in girls basketball action. Local charities eligible for grant to supply emergency food, shelter

The National Board that is chaired by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded funds to Dyer County in the amount of $15,169 to help support local emergency food and shelter services.
