AAA: TN gas prices rise nearly 8 cents

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee gas price average continues to climb, increasing another eight cents over last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.58 which is nearly 35 cents more than one month ago and 41 cents more than one year ago. “With refinery utilization at a record low, gasoline supplies tightening, demand modestly increasing and crude prices on the rise, cheap prices are in the rearview mirror for the immediate future,” said Megan Cooper, spokesperson, AAA - The Auto Club Group.. ...

Local man, woman charged with aggravated attempted kidnapping in Newbern

A Newbern man and a Dyersburg woman are currently being held at the Dyer County Jail following an incident on Friday evening where both were charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated attempted kidnapping. Caitlin Pence, 32, of Dyersburg, and Greg Hulme, 54, of Newbern, face multiple charges after allegedly attempting to kidnap two juvenile children at a Newbern residence on Friday.
