Local woman charged with filing false report regarding child abduction

On Thursday, March 25 around 1:15 p.m., Dyersburg police responded to the area of Security Bank, 1700 block of Hwy. 51 Bypass in reference to a child abduction. The female caller reported that she observed a male abduct a child and he was at the bank leaving with the child in a van.

Dyersburg plants 400 trees for TN Tree Day

Local law enforcement leaders share thoughts on proposed permitless carry bill

On March 18, the Tennessee Senate advanced legislation on what is known as the ‘Permitless Carry’ or ‘Constitutional Carry’ bill (Senate Bill 765/House Bill 786). The bill would allow most adults 21-years-old and those at least 18 years of age who have been honorably discharged from military service or on active duty and completed basic training to carry firearms concealed or openly without a license.
