Newbern PD arrests Dyersburg man on felony drug charges

On Saturday afternoon, April 10, Victor Hill, 51, of Dyersburg, was taken into custody by Newbern Police officers on numerous felony drug charges including possession of schedule II with intent to sell or deliver, possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on suspended license (3rd offense).

Less than a week after falling to the Mustangs on the road in Jackson, Dyersburg’s soccer team (3-1) picked a great time to bounce back as the Trojan defense held Madison without a goal in the Dyersburg High School Invitational Championship Game on Sunday afternoon at J.C. Annual Classic Country Benefit scheduled for May 8

On Saturday, May 8, beginning at 7 p.m., the annual Classic Country Benefit show will take place at the Bogota Community Center. The evening of country music entertainment is a fundraiser held by Newbern native and musician Theron Gean with all proceeds benefitting the Dyer County Community Cancer Fund. This year, co-headlining the event with Gean is singer-songwriter and country music legend Leona Williams.

Individuals charged with firearms possession, child endangerment following shots fired in Dyersburg

After responding to a call of shots fired in the area of Cherry and Dixie streets Saturday evening, the Dyersburg Police Department arrested numerous individuals on various charges including felon in possession of a firearm, evading arrest, child abuse and neglect, drug possession, among others.
