The Dyer County Choctaws (11-11, 3-2) saw their five-game winning streak end on Monday at Munford as the orange and white offense was held to just one hit in a 3-0 loss to the Cougars in District 13AAA action. Dyer County looked poised to get on the board early, though, as the Choctaws loaded the bases in the top of the first when Drae Stafford was hit by a pitch then Jerrod Gurden got the team's lone hit of the day and Josh Stewart was hit by another pitch with two outs. ...

Though the Lady Choctaws trailed by four late in their trip to Huntingdon on Monday evening, Dyer County (12-6-1, 2-0) rallied with eight runs over the final two innings to get an 11-7 victory over the Fillies. Jason Boyd Kidd, 50, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital. Jason was born on November 27, 1970, in Louisville, MS to Daniel H. Kidd and Linda Chandler Kidd. He was a truck driver for Western Express and was a member of RoEllen Baptist Church. Services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Sellars officiating. The Kidd Family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Cari Binkley Kidd of Dyersburg, TN; a son, Daniel Kidd of Dyersburg, TN; his mother, Linda Kidd of Louisville, MS; his father, Daniel Kidd of MS; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Hannah Kidd.
