Smith celebrates 103rd birthday

On Wednesday morning, Aline Smith, a resident of AHC Dyersburg, celebrated her 103rd birthday with family and staff members. Smith was surprised with a cake, snacks, and a party. Her son-in-law, Ray Nolen, was also in attendance, and Aline had the opportunity to Facetime with other members of her family.

Bruce Community Center holding community events in June

The Bruce Community Center recently announced two events open for all community members. Events scheduled include a parent community meeting on June 7 at 6-7 p.m. and ‘Unity in the Community’ from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 12. The Bruce Community Center is located at 801 Vernon St.

Lunch benefit to be held for DPD officer

On Friday, June 18, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., the Dyersburg Police Department is sponsoring a hamburger lunch benefit for one of their own, Sgt. Stan Langley. Langley was recently diagnosed with salivary ductile sarcoma. Relay for Life to host luminaria tribute

On Thursday, June 17, from 8:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Relay for Life will host its first drive-thru Light the Night luminaria tribute ceremony.
