Our rescue groups have done an excellent job relieving Shelter overload, but there are still 37 deserving animals waiting to be adopted. Please help by considering adoption. There are several adult and senior dogs who need love and comfort. Our goal is to have no adoptable pet left at the Shelter. Drug Task Force agents nab suspect wanted for hitting Newbern officer with vehicle

Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter says that agents from the West Tennessee Drug Task Force’s 29th Judicial District received information that a man wanted for allegedly striking a Newbern Police Officer with his vehicle on Sunday was hiding out at a home in Dyersburg.

Dyer County assistant Parson named Bolivar girls head coach

The ultimate goal of many who get into the coaching profession is to one day become a head coach in their sport of choice. This goal has been achieved by Rob Parson, an assistant basketball coach at Dyer County High School for the past three seasons, as he was named the head coach of the Bolivar High School Girls Basketball team on Monday.

Dyersburg Board upholds termination of former city employee, hears DSCC presentation

The Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened Monday evening at 7 p.m. inside the Municipal Building courtroom to hear four items of new business. Items included a presentation from DSCC President Dr. Karen Bowyer, a review of the April attorney invoice and approved bids, and to conduct an appeal hearing regarding the termination of a former City employee.
