Dyersburg man charged with illegal firearm possession

On Friday night, June 25, following a traffic stop, Dyersburg Police officers charged Kavir Bostic, 22, of Dyersburg, with unlawful possession of a weapon, simple possession of marijuana, and issued a citation for illegal tint.

Dyersburg man arrested for disorderly conduct, threats made to officer

A Dyersburg man was taken into custody on June 25 after he allegedly became irate and reportedly threatened an officer and the officer’s family. Vinson Taylor, Jr., 21, was placed under arrested for disorderly conduct and was also charged with retaliations for past actions.

Dyersburg Finance Committee ok’s proposed budget with 5-cent property tax increase

The Dyersburg Finance Committee reconvened Monday morning at City Hall to review the proposed 2021-2022 City of Dyersburg budget. The committee approved a budget, consisting of a 5-cent property tax increase with funds to be earmarked for street paving in addition to a 3 percent salary increase for City employees, over $586,000 in Capital Outlay, and the addition of full time employees to various departments.
