DA, Economy Inn reaches agreement in reopening process

On Monday morning, September 27, District Attorney General Danny Goodman announced the state and the Economy Inn, located at 1004 Hwy. 51 Bypass in Dyersburg, had reached an agreement in the reopening of the facility. Goodman presented an order listing all requirements to reopen the Economy Inn before Dyer County Chancellor Tony Childress.

Dyersburg man in custody on unlawful weapon possession, burglary charges

A local man was taken into custody after Dyersburg Police responded to a burglary call. Luis Martinez, 26, of Dyersburg was arrested on charges of felon in possession of a weapon, aggravated burglary, and resisting arrest.

The final week of the regular season will be a busy one for local high school teams as both the Lady Choctaws and Lady Trojans will be on the court for many of the upcoming days. Dyer County, with the regular season District 14AA championship, top seed in the upcoming tournament and the hosting duties for the tournament in hand, will continue their week after opening the string of games on Monday at home when the Lady Choctaws play their final district game of the regular season when they host Crockett County at 6:15 p.m.. ...

Farmers market celebrates conclusion of successful season

This past Saturday, September 25, concluded the Main Street Farmers Market 2021 season. The Main Street Dyersburg Farmers Market at the Forked Deer River Park began on Saturday, June 12, and was open every Tuesday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., offering producer-only vegetables, plants, herbs, crafts, clothing, jewelry, soaps, pottery and much more.

50th Reelfoot Arts and Crafts Festival begins Friday
