Ribbon cutting held for Newbern Elementary School’s Giving Room

On Thursday, November 11, an in-house ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Newbern Elementary School for The Giving Room with teachers from NES and representatives from the Dyer County Central Office in attendance. Crash on Hwy. 51 results in fatality

On Tuesday evening, November 16, the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to Highway 51 between the Newbern and Trimble exits where a two-vehicle accident occurred. As a result of the crash, the THP reported one fatality, 74-year-old Rose Corcoran of Dyersburg.

Dyersburg Board approves curbside pickup, River City proposal

On Monday evening, November 15, the Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted 7-1 to move to curbside pickup and accept the proposal presented by River City Hydraulics, Inc. All aldermen and Dyersburg Mayor John Holden voted in favor of the proposal, however, Alderman James Baltimore voted in opposition with Alderman Willie Cole opting to pass.
