Tickets on sale for Murder Mystery Dinner and Wine Tasting

Tickets are now on sale for the Dyersburg-Dyer County Arts Council annual Murder Mystery Dinner and Wine Tasting event, and just in time to purchase as Christmas gifts. This year's event is called "Murder at the Rundown Saloon!" and will take place at the Red Brick House, 602 Poplar St., Dyersburg, on January 22 at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in three different categories, including for Best Western Costume this year. Audience members will also be eligible for the "Super Sleuth Award."...

Local Operation Christmas Child effort contributes over 2,500 gifts

Though COVID-19 slowed many things down this year, it did not stop the collection of gift-filled boxes for the Dyer County Chapter of Operation Christmas Child. This year 2,525 shoeboxes were collected for shipment from Dyer County to boys and girls around the world.

Union Mission toy store provides Christmas gifts for local, Samburg area children

The Pride For Parents Toy Store, held annually by New Life Union Mission with assistance from numerous individuals, businesses, and organizations, helped provide Christmas gifts for 176 local children. Additionally, all remaining toys and stocking stuffers were sent to Samburg to be distributed to Reelfoot Lake area children following the tornadoes that occurred less than two weeks ago.
