A Dyersburg man is in custody after allegedly raping a 10-year-old child. The Dyersburg Police Department arrested Trey’Shawn Ward, 18, upon completing an investigation pertaining to the incident.

On Wednesday, January 5, Dyersburg police charged a 13-year-old juvenile with aggravated assault for allegedly beating an 18-year-old female following the shooting death of Nicholas Sampson on Light Street on New Year’s Eve.

Gerald R. Lovell, 78, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at his residence after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Gerry was an avid golfer and Cubs Fan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg. In 2009, he retired from Komatsu as a general manager. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, who loved his country and his family and was a very happy and funny man who was full of life.
