No. 8 Trojans end non-district slate with win at Halls

DSCC awarded state grant to aid students with intellectual and developmental disabilities

The Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is awarding Dyersburg State Community College a $327,262 grant to expand higher education opportunities to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dyersburg State is one of only four higher education institutions receiving initial funding from the department’s new Tennessee Believes grant program, and will be the first Tennessee community college to create an inclusive program for students with intellectual and developmental (cognitive) disabilities (IDD).. ...

Three Saturday shootings result in homicides, injuries

Three separate shootings on Saturday in Dyersburg resulted in two fatalities and numerous injuries to others involved. According to the Dyersburg Police Department, Timothy Rucker, 30, and Marcus Breashers, 33, both of Dyersburg succumbed to their injuries in separate incidents.

DPD arrests local man on assault, weapon charges

On January 22, Dyersburg police arrested a local man after he allegedly pulled a handgun on another man on Sylvan Rd. Jamal Jackson, 29, of Dyersburg was taken into custody on charges of felon in possession with a handgun and aggravated assault.

Dyer County celebrates homecoming with blowout wins

With District 13AAA play dominating the remainder of 2021-22 regular season, Dyer County celebrated its Basketball Homecoming 2022 on Saturday night when the Choctaws and Lady Choctaws both picked up big wins over visiting Kipp Collegiate in Newbern.
