Round 2 at the Glove tonight

Just 15 days after the first meeting in 12 years between Dyer County and Dyersburg, local basketball fans will have an opportunity to see both the orange and white and black and gold meet up in Dyersburg High School’s Terry Glover Gymnasium for a District 13AAA doubleheader which can have implications for the district’s standings.

George Edward “Eddie” Cathey, 60, of Collierville, formerly of Dyersburg, died Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Baptist Hospital Collierville. He is the son of George and Josephine Cathey. Eddie was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Choir. He enjoyed being a member of the Memphis Men of Harmony.

There was a lot for both teams to play for on Saturday night as the No. 10 Dyersburg boys looked to add to their three-game District 13AAA winning streak as well as avenge their Jan. 28 loss to the Choctaws in Newbern when the black and gold hosted Dyer County.
