Nancy Yarbro Davis passed away in her sleep on March 29, 2022 at the Union City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Nancy was born in Decatur County on June 10, 1936, and her family relocated to Menglewood in Dyer County when she was still a small girl. She lived for a short time on Ft. Hudson Road, but Troy Avenue in Dyersburg was home for her school years. Nancy was a lifelong member of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church...

Choctaws close out tournament with loss to Paducah Tilghman

The Dyer County baseball team faced off against Paducah Tilghman on Saturday afternoon for the third day of the L.H. Ladd Memorial Baseball Tournament in Union City. Despite grabbing the initial 1-0 lead, the Choctaws gave up three runs to Paducah in the final four innings. Dyer County could not recover as they ended their weekend in defeat.
