The Dyer County softball team matched up against the Obion County Lady Rebels on Tuesday night in Troy. The Lady Choctaws tallied up ten hits with zero errors to get past the Lady Rebels. With the 10-3 win Dyer County is now 4-0 in district play on the season.

DES Power Board re-affirms Audit Committee, hears storm updates

Local war veteran brought home, laid to rest in Yorkville

A local war veteran was laid to rest in his hometown of Yorkville Tuesday afternoon. Claude White, Chief Water Tender of the United States Navy, lost his life during the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941 while on board the USS Oklahoma. He was 40 years old. Over 80 years later, thanks to DNA analysis, CWT White’s remains were identified and brought home.
