Steak cook-off raises funds for Breakfast Rotary

On Saturday, the Breakfast Rotary Club of Dyersburg held their first SCA (Steak Cookoff Association) steak/ancillary cook off at the Dyer County Fairgrounds with several local, in-state, and out-of-state teams participating. The event, a fundraiser for the organization, raised over $7,800 to help Breakfast Rotary continue their community-based service projects.

Relay for Life event at Sorghum Valley raises over $31,000

The 2022 Dyer County Relay for Life event occurred Friday, May 6 at Sorghum Valley, located at the Dyer County Fairgrounds. Other than a brief sprinkle of rain at the beginning of the opening ceremonies, Mother Nature cooperated and offered a beautiful night for the event. As of Monday afternoon, the event had raised over $31,000.

Dyersburg man issued charge of attempted murder

On Sunday, Dekia Giles, 22, of Dyersburg was arrested by Dyer County Sheriff’s Office investigators after reportedly shooting and severely wounding a victim late Saturday night, May 7.
