Dyersburg baseball is wasting no time with dead period just around the corner. They faced off against Halls for a friendly game on Tuesday night. Dyersburg came out on top, winning 11-3 thanks to a big five-run second inning.

Gertie Joyce Douglas, 89, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee. Born Friday, May 12, 1933, in Newbern, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward Pledge and the late Lela Belle Harrison Pledge. Mrs. Douglas was a homemaker. She was a dedicated member of First Assembly of God, where she served as teacher in the Missionette program for many years. Mrs. Douglas also worked in the children’s nursery.
