Golf scramble raises funds for cancer fund, humane society

On July 30, the first annual Red Mule Open 4-man scramble was held at The Farms in Dyersburg, where proceeds were raised for both the Dyer County Community Cancer Fund and the Dyersburg-Dyer County Humane Society. The event was also held in honor of the late Preston ‘Doc’ Dickerson and raised around $8,000.

Ballard memorial ride begins in Trimble

On Friday, August 5, motorcycle enthusiasts and friends of the Ballard family gathered at Full Throttle S’loonshine Distillery to officially begin the first leg of the 2022 Vicki Ballard Memorial Ride. Bikes roared to life around 9:30 a.m. Friday in downtown Trimble, Vicki’s hometown, to begin the annual 1,200-mile, 3-day adventure to the Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, South Dakota.
