Okeena Park receives arboretum certification

On Wednesday, August 17, James Wick, nurseryman and arborist, inspected the trees and signage at Okeena Park prior to issuing recertification as a level-2 arboretum. He identified a White Oak at the north end of the park as being 500-plus years old. How amazing that this tree existed when Indians hunted in the woods and Yankee and Confederate soldiers hiked through the trees as well.
