DSCC honors 82nd and 83rd nursing classes with pinning ceremony

Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) honored its 82nd and 83rd nursing classes with a ceremony for 27 graduates in the traditional nursing program and 12 graduates in the Paramedic to RN program on Dec. 8. A total of 2,177 nursing students have graduated from DSCC over the past 41 years.

Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council asks community to donate boxes

The Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council in Dyersburg is in desperate need of boxes used for packing USDA commodities. Anyone with boxes is asked to drop them off at the Dyersburg location, 1400 Hornbrook St., in Room 116. For questions for additional information, please call the office at 731-285-5556.

Successful Shop with a Cop sponsors over 100 local children

The Dyersburg Police Department (DPD) headed the 3rd annual Shop with a Cop project at the Dyersburg Wal-Mart on December 13. Hearts of parents and officers alike were overflowing after the success of the Shop with a Cop project, where many smiling faces were seen. Over 100 local children from the Dyersburg area were paired with officers and staff with the DPD, who assisted the children with their shopping.

Finance committee discusses issues with trash pickup services, Pension Plan amendments

The Dyersburg Finance committee convened Wednesday, December 14, at Dyersburg City Hall to discuss amendments to the Pension Plan, as well as discuss issues concerning trash pickup services.

I AM Group helps provide Christmas gifts for kids with $860 donation to Matilda Fund

I AM Group recently presented NAACP President Pastor Tiffany Boyd with a donation of roughly $860, which will now go toward the benefit of providing toys for local children through the Matilda Fund, a program for children who have one, or more parents incarcerated during the holidays. Boyd says the donation will help the Matilda Fund with its goal of providing roughly 50 Dyer County children with Christmas gifts this year.
