On February 6, 2023, the Dyer County Budget committee met in the Richard Hill Conference Room of the Dyer County Courthouse to discuss updates from various county organizations, and ongoing projects. The committee also reviewed budget transfers.

The road through the boys’ side of District 13AAA took a very interesting turn on Tuesday night as Dyersburg (18-5, 2-1) fell to Obion County Central, 59-52, creating a three-way atop the district standings through half the conference slate. Choctaws take down Cavaliers; tied atop district

Despite being down eight minutes into Tuesday night’s District 13AAA clash at Alamo with Crockett County, the Choctaws (17-5, 2-1) stormed back in the second quarter to take a lead which lasted all but a minute of the rest of the game as Dyer County topped the Cavaliers 78-71.

Dyersburg Police and District Attorney General seek to have residential property declared a nuisance

On February 7, Dyersburg Police executed a Petition for Abatement of Nuisance and Request for Injunctive Relief on the property of Samuel L Bush, located at 1513 Tarrant Street. DPD was joined by the 29th Judicial District Attorney General Danny Goodman and Assistant District Attorney General Andrew Hays, who prepared the petition on behalf of the Dyersburg Police Department. Dyersburg Police Chief Steve Isbell is the affiant on the order. Dyer County Circuit Court Judge Mark Hayes issued the temporary order. Bush was issued a court date for Friday, February 10, at 10:00 a.m.
