Chamber to host Legislative Coffee; discussion on student remediation

The Dyer County/Dyersburg Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Legislative Coffee at the Lannom Center on Friday, Feb. 24, from 10:30 a.m.-noon. The topic will concern TN Learning Loss and Student Remediation Act. Speakers will include Representatives Mark White, Deborah Moody, Chris Hurt, Rusty Grills, and State Senator Ed Jackson.

Lady Trojans fall to Crockett County; set sights on Region Tournament

One year removed from going 0-8 in District 13AAA regular season and postseason play, the Dyersburg High School Lady Trojans (14-12) found themselves one win away from their first District 13AAA Tournament Championship since the 2013-2014 season. Despite playing over 8:00 without a field goal in the first half and making just two field goals in the second half until the 5:52 mark in the fourth quarter, Dyersburg found themselves within two possessions before ultimately falling to the Crockett County Lady Cavaliers (23-6) 47-35 in Troy.

Lady Choctaws defeat Obion County; open Region Tournament Friday night

For the third time this season, the Dyer County Lady Choctaws (20-6) and Obion County Central Lady Rebels (11-19) met on the basketball court. And for the third time this season, Dyer County dispatched of the Lady Rebels, as the Lady Choctaws won 47-41 in Monday night’s District 13AAA Consolation Game in Troy.
