After over a week on the road, Dyer County returned to Newbern on Monday and got back to their winning ways at home, scoring five times in the bottom of the sixth on the way to an 8-6 win over visiting Munford at Dyer County High School. DPD Special Task Force responds to hostage situation in Evansville community

On Tuesday, March 28, Dyersburg police responded to 2nd Street in reference to an armed suicidal female in a house with a disabled elderly family member. Officers arrived and immediately started negotiations with the female who was armed with a shotgun. The female refused to allow the family member out of the house and the department’s Special Response Team was called to the scene. Negotiators continued their attempts to end the standoff.
