Finance Committee discusses TCRS retirement plan; EMS services to be bid out

The Dyer County Finance Committee convened Wednesday, April 5, at 1:30 p.m. to discuss a proposal for the TCRS retirement plan. All members of the committee were present for the meeting. While not outlined on the agenda, the committee also received a brief update from Dyer County Mayor David Quick regarding EMS services, currently slated to end on July 1, 2023. Quick informed committee members that negotiations with EMS were ongoing

Trojans hold off West Memphis to win third straight

Dyersburg baseball's bounce back week continued on Thursday as the Trojans travelled to USA Stadium in Millington and returned with a 4-2 win over West Memphis, Ark. DHS Class of 1973 plans 50-year reunion

The Dyersburg High School Class of 1973 is planning a 50-year reunion for the weekend of October 13-14, 2023. Class members have met for the past year to pull together this historic event. At the latest meeting held on March 30, the major focus was on contacting class members. There are approximately 76 class members for whom the committee has no contact information. The weekend event will begin with a casual meet and greet on the evening of Friday, October 13 at The Lenox Golf Club. On Saturday the 14th, a Dutch treat luncheon will be hosted at The Blacksmith Restaurant followed by a tour of the high school led by Nancy Austin. Dyer County initiates litter prevention programs, partnerships to clean up downtown areas

Healing Horses sponsors 2nd Annual Fun Day Camp in RoEllen

A crowd of kids enjoyed the 2nd Annual Healing Horses Fun Day Camp designed to allow special needs children some one-on-one time with local physical therapists, have some horse therapy time, and practice special horse skills. The event started off at the Family Living Center at RoEllen Baptist Church where children engaged in activities including a petting zoo, face painting, arts and crafts, and a scavenger hunt. Healing Horses Executive Director Sonya Burks shared a story about Easter, and Randal Butler led worship and prayer with a song.
