On Thursday, April 13, Dyersburg City Schools wrapped up its third and final installment of public safety meetings. The final meeting was held in the cafeteria at Dyersburg Intermediate School, with roughly 17 faculty, parents, and officials in attendance.

Ninth-inning Odom walk-off ends thriller with Lady Trojan 5-4 win over Dyer County

Local softball fans got their money’s worth and then some on Thursday night as it took more than seven innings to decide things between Dyersburg and Dyer County at Doug French Field in an important District 13AAA softball tilt. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth and the bases-loaded, Dyersburg freshman Izzie Odom hit a well-placed grounder to short allowing speedy freshman Chelby Jordan to score the winning run in the Lady Trojans’ 5-4 victory over the Lady Choctaws.

Marjorie Ballard, 87, of Trimble, Tennessee died on Friday, April 14, 2023, at AHC Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Union City, Tennessee. Born Sunday, December 8, 1935, in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Porter Crews and the late Georgie Katherine Fisher Crews. Mrs. Ballard was a retired hairdresser and homemaker.
