Dyer County receives $1.6M grant for water service upgrades

Safety initiatives underway at Dyersburg City Schools

When students return to the campuses of Dyersburg City Schools this August, there will be new safety initiatives in place thanks to the input from our community members and staff members. Many of the initiatives were the product of the district’s Community Safety Forums held in the spring.

Boogaloo Riders host donation drive, bike show for Wesley Homes residents

Saturday evening, June 24, roughly 30 Boogaloo members rode into Wesley Homes with numerous donations benefitting residents. Boogaloo member Jennifer Kaye Woods said the idea to host a donation drive presented itself after a conversation with Gina Lusk of Wesley Homes. Woods said Lusk asked if the Boogaloo Riders would be interested in bringing their bikes to the facility to show to residents, but Woods said the Boogaloos decided to do much more.

WWII veteran Jack Claiborne honored at Jackson flag retirement ceremony

A flag retirement ceremony occurred at Jackson, Tennessee’s historic Casey Jones Village home on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Brooks Shaw of The Old Country Store hosted dignitaries, retired military members, scout troops, national media, and Dyersburg resident Jack Claiborne, a 98-year-old WWII veteran who was a gunner during the D-Day invasion of Normandy.
