Dyersburg dominates in Region 7-3A opener

Though the scoring was minimal in the first half, Dyersburg utilized its ground game in a big way during the second half as the Trojans scored three straight times in the final 24 minutes to pull away and beat Covington 24-0 in the Region 7-3A opener.

DC defense plays lights out, but offense struggles at Union City

The Dyer County defense played as well as you can ask for, with three defensive stops inside the 10-yard line, holding a Union City offense with 18 first downs to just two offensive touchdowns. Unfortunately the offense never found their rhythm as the Choctaws (1-2) fell 20-7 in Union City on Friday night.

The calendar has turned to September and we’re getting to the middle of our high school fall sports regular seasons for things other than football. That’s not to say we’re not moving pretty quickly through the gridiron season as we just finished Week 3 on Friday night with some good games, too...

Local man thanks first responders and law enforcement for saving his life

On August 19, 61-year old Randall Priest lost consciousness while undergoing his dialysis treatment at home. Priest described the moments between starting his treatment and waking up at the hospital as flashes of consciousness, where he vaguely could recall moments in which first responders were attempting to save his life. Priest says he hooked himself up to his dialysis machine around 4 p.m. that evening and inadvertently bypassed the fill for his dialysis solution. By the time he realized his error, he says he was already starting to lose consciousness.
