The Dyer County Relay for Life Bicentennial Boo Bash drew a crowd of hundreds to Sorghum Valley for an evening of fellowship, family activities, and fundraising. This event is held annually to recognize survivors and caregivers, while also honoring the memory of those who lost their battle to cancer.

Dream Factory hosts 5K fundraiser at Okeena Park

On Saturday, October 7, Dream Factory hosted a 5K run and children’s 1/4-mile and 1-mile laps. The event kicked off at 8 a.m. as a large group of runners collected at the corner of Okeena Drive and Lake Rd. Following the race, participants were treated to hot dogs and beverages. Additionally, local animal rescue agency Paws to Care had volunteers on location to provide information about the organization.

Multiple firearms stolen from Cypress Creek

On Sunday, October 8, Dyersburg police responded to an alarm call at Cypress Creek, located at 305 N. Highway 51 Bypass. Officers arrived to discover the back door to the business was open. Officers cleared the building and determined firearms had been stolen.

Violation of gang injunction results in arrest

On October 8 around 3:00 a.m., a Dyersburg police officer on patrol observed Romeil Moses, 23, of Dyersburg, walking on Hornbrook Street. Moses, who is under the current gang injunction, ran away when the officer attempted to speak with him.

Dyersburg man charged with attempted murder makes court appearance, requests counsel change

A Dyersburg man, Jeremiah Toles, 20, appeared before Judge Jason Hudson on Monday, October 9. The Dyersburg City Police arrested Toles for attempted 2nd degree murder, theft of the victim’s vehicle, and robbery. He was further charged with failure to appear.
