Mr. Barry Lee Hart, of Dyersburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his home. He was born September 13, 1947 to the late James & Christine Hart. Dyer County travels to Melrose for Class 4A Round 2 battle

Coming off a win over Craigmont in last week’s first round of the TSSAA Class 4A Playoffs at home in Newbern, the Dyer County football team (6-5) will leave the comfy confines of Choctaw Stadium and head south to Memphis to take on Region 8-4A Champion Melrose in Friday’s second-round game.

Trojans host Westview in rematch in round 2 of playoffs

In what has become a yearly tradition in Region 7-3A’s postseason play, the second week of the TSSAA Football Playoffs will feature a rematch of in-season action as Dyersburg will welcome Westview for Class 3A Second Round action on Friday night at J.C. Sawyers Stadium.

Museum salutes veterans at annual program

The Veterans’ Museum hosted its annual Veterans Day program on November 5. Over 80 guests attended the program. Museum Director Pat Higdon welcomed everyone and spoke about how citizens need to come together after the Covid pandemic. Rev. SSG (ret.) William Jarrett led the opening prayer. Tyler Douglas and Halls Cub Scouts, Pack 17 led the Pledge of Allegiance, and the National Anthem was sung accompanied on the piano by Cindy Landrum of Salem Methodist Church...
