This winter, curtains will rise for a Christmas production brought to you by the Dyersburg-Dyer County Arts Council. The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge is a comedy that takes place one year after Ebenezer’s encounter with the three Christmas ghosts.

The gift and power of music; the Munich one-man-band

By William Northcutt --- Snow was falling hard upon Munich, and in the center of the city, people ducked their heads, coats buttoned up to their chins. Salt on the sidewalks and streets made for a mushy mess. Warm from a meal of bratwurst, fries, and a Paulaner Pilsner beer, I was light-hearted, enjoying the snow that fell on my hair, glasses, and shoulders.

Lady Trojans pull away with strong third quarter

The Lady Trojans answered a late second-quarter run by Stewarts Creek which cut into their lead at the half with a 25-5 third quarter to pull away from the Lady Redhawks on the way to a 69-31 win on Saturday afternoon in Dyersburg's home opener.

Geraldine "Jerry" Barbour, age 85, of Tigrett, Tennessee, passed away on November 15, 2023. She was born on July 18, 1938, in Stokes, Tennessee to the late Huey and Fannie Robertson. Jerry was a valued secretary of Production Credit Association in her early career, later a resourceful farm wife and dedicated caregiver to her family.
