This virus attacks the lining of the airways and the lungs, leading to various symptoms that can make babies and those with compromised immune systems very sick.

UTM Choir and graduate Caroline Oldfather to perform with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra

The UTM Choir and Caroline Oldfather, a May 2023 graduate from the University of Tennessee at Martin, will perform Dec. 2 with The Jackson Symphony at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson in their “Holiday Pops 2023” concert.

Finley receives Alumni Endowed Scholarship at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis

Rachel Finley of Dyersburg, a first-year student at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, was recently honored with the SCO Alumni Endowed Scholarship award. The award recognizes an optometry student who had at least a 3.0 grade point average during their undergraduate studies or an earned minimum score of 320 on the Optometry Admission Test. It comes with an annual scholarship of $5,000 over the course of the four-year doctorate program.

East Nashville pulls away late to eliminate Trojans

Dyersburg battled throughout the contest and kept it close for much of the TSSAA Class 3A Semifinal at East Nashville, but a pair of big plays late by the Eagles sealed the Trojans’ fate as the black and gold fell 33-19 in Nashville on Friday night.

Forrest Kenton Busch, Sr. was born in Memphis, Tennessee on March 31st, 1938. His mother, Anna Lee Brown and father, William Milford Nuckles lived in Clarkton, Missouri where he grew up.
