When a team gets as far as the Lady Trojans have found their journey taking them this postseason – to the doorstep of their overall goal of winning the TSSAA State Championship – those players have been tested on more than one occasion during the course of the season which began in the middle of November.

Despite being in foul trouble for much of the game, the Lady Trojans battled through adversity and used a dominant fourth quarter to nearly double the lead they had heading into the fourth quarter as Dyersburg clinched a spot in the TSSAA Class AAA Championship Game for the first time since 2005 with a 74-51 win over Cocke County in the state semifinals on Friday evening in the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

The best basketball teams sometimes can be like families. Some of these teams have players who are children of the coaches. And, others have players who have been so close to the coaches they feel like their own. In the Lady Trojans' case this season, it's both.
