This past week’s rain led to a Saturday afternoon matinee at Medina as Dyer County traveled to meet South Gibson in District 13AAA action, coming out on top 2-1 to remain undefeated in the district.

Dyersburg, Dyer County have good outings at Trojan Invitational

For the first time in five years, local track fans didn’t have to travel far to watch athletes from Dyersburg and Dyer County as Dyersburg hosted it’s first meet since 2019 as the black and gold held the Trojan Invitational on Friday evening at J.C. Sawyers Stadium.

Choctaws bounce back to win at Covington

Coming off a tough loss the previous night in Millington against Bartlett, the Choctaw baseball team traveled south down Highway 51 again and returned from Covington with a 5-2 win over the Chargers on Saturday. Four scoreless innings lead to a flurry of runs late in the game on Saturday as Covington took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. JROTC to host 2nd Annual 5K Race

On Saturday, May 4, the Dyer County Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps [JROTC] will be hosting its 2nd Annual Rescue Squad 5K Run/Walk. The event will begin at the student parking lot of Dyer County High School with the kick-off at 8 a.m. Late registration will begin at 7 a.m. Only cash payments will be accepted on the day of the race.
