Wednesday, June 13, 2007

Next week, Dyersburg's Professional Development Center will open its doors for a multi-state conference advertised as a way to "teach traditional American History with concepts that are anything less than traditional."

Local residents are encouraged to join the kindergarten through 12th grade educators from Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee who are expected to attend the "Teaching Traditional American History Showcase." The event, scheduled for June 18 through 22 at the center, is sponsored by The University of Tennessee at Martin and Dyersburg's PDC, and funded in part by the U.S. Department of Education.
