Crockett County teacher charged with statutory rape
The Crockett County Sheriff's Department arrested a Crockett County High School teacher on Wednesday for statutory rape of one of his students.
Perry Reeves, 29, 6934 Highway 412, Bells, Tenn., is charged with two counts of aggravated statutory rape, two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Sources close to the case say the boyfriend of the 15-year-old victim was arrested after reportedly smashing out the windows of Reeves' truck. Afterward, deputies arrived at the victim's house and Reeves reportedly ran out the back. Deputies later picked up Reeves close to the victim's house.
Crockett County General Sessions Court records say Reeves committed aggravated statutory rape on two separate dates (June 16 and 27) at the victim's house.
Reeves was arrested and released on a $25,000 bond on Thursday. Reeves taught history at Crockett County High School and has been the assistant football coach and defensive coordinator for the Crocket County Cavaliers.
