Neurogenx, local physician partner to open new NerveCenter in Jackson

LANSING, Mich. - In a treatment milestone for local neuropathy patients, the second Neurogenx NerveCenter in Tennessee opened its doors in Jackson on Feb. 8. One of only eight NerveCenters across the country, the Jackson medical facility is a partnership between Dr. David Dowell, DPM, and Neurogenx, the creators of an innovative nerve treatment program that has helped physicians end neuropathy pain for hundreds of patients.

Neuropathy is the tingling, burning, pain and numbness in feet and hands caused by nerve damage due to illness such as diabetes; chronic nerve conditions such as fibromyalgia and carpal tunnel syndrome; chemotherapy and trauma, among many other things. It affects nearly 30 percent of Americans over the age of 40. Traditionally difficult to treat, patients often go without relief for the painful symptoms. In worst-case scenarios, neuropathy can lead chronic pain, sleeplessness, loss of balance, falls and injuries that don't heal -- perhaps even resulting in the amputation of a foot or leg.

"Treatment with the Neurogenx Electronic Signal Technology changes all that," said Dr. Dowell, Executive Director of the Jackson Neurogenx NerveCenter. "It provides excellent long-term results to patients suffering from chronic nerve pain associated with peripheral neuropathy. It's extremely gratifying to watch patients be able to give up medications, to get restful sleep and even discontinue the use of their canes or walkers. Neurogenx helps them recover their lives, free from neuropathy symptoms."

The Neurogenx Treatment eliminates or significantly reduces neuropathy symptoms in more than four out of five patients. The treatment is non-surgical and non-narcotic. The technology behind the treatment is patented and FDA-cleared as the only device of its kind. It has been used by hundreds of physicians nationwide with dramatic results.

"Improvement often becomes noticeable within 3-4 treatments," added Connie Reaves, Nurse Practitioner at Jackson. "It's highly effective. There is also growing scientific evidence that the Neurogenx technique does more than just manage neuropathy symptoms -- it enables the nerve cells to heal themselves, providing healing and the restoration of nerve function."

The new Neurogenx NerveCenters are part of a coordinated effort to elevate the standard of neuropathy care and provide greater access to effective treatment. NerveCenters are staffed by specially trained clinicians, certified in the Neurogenx treatment protocol. The Centers are independently owned and operated, but receive training, marketing and business support from Neurogenx corporate headquarters.

For a limited time, patients who want to learn more about the Neurogenx treatment can arrange a complimentary consultation by contacting the Jackson NerveCenter appointment office at 731-256-6974. The Neurogenx NerveCenter of Jackson is located at 96 W. University Parkway, Suite C, Jackson, TN 38305. Website: www.neurogenx.com/Jackson.
