Tennessee Weekly Livestock Summary for the week of January 21-26, 2019

Receipts: 4,001 Last Week 5,508 Last Year 9,949
Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were mostly steady to 3.00 higher
with moderate to good demand noted on a fair to good quality offering. Slaughter
cows were mostly steady to 3.00 higher, with instances sharply higher; slaughter
bulls were mostly steady with some instances sharply higher. Good demand was noted
on all classes of slaughter cattle this week. Comparisons are limited due to light
receipts in direct correlation with winter weather in the area.
In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 34 percent and heifers
approximately 43 percent. Feeder cattle over 600 lbs totaled approximately
22 percent.
