Dyersburg Hospital begins expanded visitation

On Wednesday, May 13, West Tennessee Healthcare – Dyersburg Hospital announced the facility has begun expanded visitation. The visitor policy has been updated to include the following:

All visitors must be screened prior to entry into the hospital.

1. All patients will be allowed to have one single designated visitor who is determined at the time of hospitalization and may be changed during hospital stay only with approval from Nurse Manager or House Supervisor.

2. A mask, visitor pass, and white ID bracelet indicating the last name of the patient to which the visitor is assigned, location of patient, and date will be placed on the visitor. Each designated visitor is required to be screened daily and ID bracelet replaced with current date.

a. Patients at end-of-life may have a very limited number of visitors who must remain in the room for the duration of the visit.

b. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) patients may have two parents who must remain in the room the duration of the visit.

3. Hours of visitation will be limited for hospitalized Non-ED patients as follows:

- Visitation is allowed daily from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

- No overnight visitors except Obstetrical, Pediatric, NICU or end of life patients. Any other overnight visitation must be approved by Nurse Manager or House Supervisor.

- All visitors will be required to stay in assigned patient room and to wear a mask during their entire visit.

- Visitors will be allowed access to hospital cafeteria or to pick up food delivery in hospital lobby.

- To minimize risks to our patients and effectively manage traffic, visitors are asked not to leave the facility and return the same day. Nursing approval will be required for re-entry of any visitor within the same day. Nursing should notify the Screener station at 287-2444 to allow visitor re-entry.

- All visitors will be required to leave the facility by 8 p.m. Ann announcement will be made at 15 minutes prior to visitation ending and whenever visitation is over.
