Dyer County COVID-19 update for August 13

With the release of the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH) daily COVID-19 update on Thursday, the department reported Dyer County as having 696 total COVID-19 cases, which contains confirmed and probable cases, as well as 371 active cases and 316 recoveries. The total number of deaths in the county due to the virus also increased to 9.

Additionally, the TDH said the county has 776 PCR positive test results and 6,191 PCR negative results.

In comparison to the numbers reported by the TDH yesterday, Aug. 12, Dyer County increased by 17 in total cases and 8 active cases. Additionally, recoveries increased from 308 to 316, and 1 death was added to the fatality total.

Statewide, Tennessee was reported having 128,511 total cases, with 126,436 confirmed and 2,075 probable in Thursday’s update. Recoveries were listed at 89,151 (69 percent).

Total deaths in the state were reported at 1,313 (1 percent), with 1,273 confirmed and 40 probable.

A total of 1,785,646 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the state with 1,633,721 resulting in PCR negatives and 151,925 PCR positive results.

Tennessee COVID-19 hospitalizations listed by the TDC on Thursday was as follows:

- 5,648 hospitalizations (4 percent)

- 70,448 not hospitalized (55 percent)

- 52,415 pending (41 percent)

Shelby County (Memphis) continued to lead the state in total COVID-19 cases with 23,943, while Davidson County (Nashville) is second, with 21,280.
