Gov. Lee extends state of emergency through February

On Tuesday, December 22, Governor Bill Lee extended a state of emergency in Tennessee by signing Executive Order 73, which will take effect on December 29 until February 27, 2021.

The executive order allows county mayors to have the authority to implement local mask mandates, grants local governing bodies to conduct meetings electronically, and specifies other arrangements due to COVID-19.

Other notable highlights in the executive order include those testing positive for the virus are required to stay at home, unless to receive medical care, and employers are not allowed to have an employee who tested positive to arrive for work until the individual has fulfilled the CDC guidelines for isolation. Additionally, numerous regulations pertaining to the medical industry has continued to be waived.
