DPD investigating shooting incident

The Dyersburg Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident, occurring on May 5 in the area of Victory Avenue.
According to a release from the DPD, officers responded to West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital on May 5 at 11:30 p.m. in reference to a shooting victim. While en route to the hospital, officers were reportedly provided information the incident occurred at a residence on Victory.
“Officers located the residence where the 23-year-old victim lives, and determined the victim had been shot while inside the residence through a window where multiple shots had been fired,” read the DPD release. “The victim was later transferred to a Memphis hospital for further treatment.”
The DPD said limited information is being provided to law enforcement from individuals on the scene. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 731-285-TIPS, where callers can remain anonymous, 311, or the DPD Criminal Investigation Division at 731-288-7679.
