Terrorism scare
(Local News ~ 10/25/01)
A powdery substance found in a Dyersburg convenience store Wednesday tested the city's new anti-bioterrorism procedures. And, they got good marks, Dyersburg Fire Chief Billy Taylor said. New wave of terrorism likely to be bombs
(Local News ~ 10/25/01)
The American public may currently be obsessed with threats of biological weapons, but U.S. intelligence services fear the next wave of international terrorism is more likely to be bombs directed at targets in small-town America. Dan Wilson, explosives handler for the Dyersburg Police Department, told an audience of Dyer County business representatives Wednesday he had recently attended a terrorism seminar in Nashville where a British general warned that a wave of letter bombs directed at small-town governments across America was a more likely al Qaida scenario than a massive anthrax attack on a civilian population. ...

(High School Sports ~ 10/25/01)

For starters, there are a lot of big games with regional championship implications Friday. No. 1 on the list is a clear-cut regional championship game; the winner is the champ, the loser is the runner-up. Dyersburg at 7-2 takes on Jackson-North Side at 8-1...
