The West Tennessee River Basin Authority expects to find out soon how much it might cost to repair a corroded standpipe at Lakewood subdivision. The 23-year-old corrugated metal standpipe on Lakewood's main lake is leaking. A contractor who specializes in lining pipes like these visited the lake Wednesday. David Burton of Reynolds Inc. said he believes the company's cured-in-place pipe liner could be used to stop the leaks and to strengthen the pipe itself...

Test results: Powder contains no anthrax; Disinfected store reopens

The white powdery substance found in a local store this week doesn't contain anthrax spores, Dyersburg Police Department learned Thursday afternoon. The state health department tested the powder and said that it doesn't contain anthrax, police spokesman Kendra Ward said.
