Man sentenced to three years probation for trying to take crack into jail

A man indicted last week on a charge of introducing cocaine into the Dyer County Jail unexpectedly pleaded guilty to the charge in circuit court Tuesday and was sentenced to three years in jail. Lake Road should be finished Friday

The State Route 78/Lake Road extension construction project, which began in March, 2000, should be completed Friday - weather permitting. Traffic began moving freely along Lake Road over the weekend but, according to Sam Baggett, vice president of Ford Construction, there are some finishing touches left to make. The Lady Trojans captured a 26-19 triumph before the Trojans claimed a 61-34 victory in the nightcap.
