Scam to extort money from prisoners' families draws jail sentence, restitution

A Dyersburg man pleaded guilty Tuesday to scamming state prisoners' families and was sentenced to serve 11 months, 29 days in the Dyer County Jail and pay $900 in restitution. Jeffery Wayne Parson, 40, of 1813 Schaffer St., also pleaded guilty in Dyer County Circuit Court to a charge of felony failure to appear and was sentenced to serve two years in prison by Circuit Judge Lee Moore. ...
