City, County schools could lose $3.1 million

City school superintendent Lloyd Ramer told members of the school board Monday night a "no new taxes" state budget would mean a loss of $3.1 million for Dyersburg and Dyer County school systems. He said that he had spoken earlier with Faye Taylor, Tennessee's Commissioner for Education, who faxed him calculations of actual cuts to system budgets that would have to be made if state legislators did not find new sources of revenues for the next school year. ...
