Is your dog safe? Some pet owners thought so until their dogs were stolen. A few of those stolen pets were recovered Jan. 16 when the Dyersburg-Dyer County Humane Society investigated a potential case of animal neglect. They found 10 pit bulls, most of which were undernourished and suffering from exposure to the cold. Some bore scars that indicated the dogs had been in fights, and two were still bleeding when the humane society arrived...

The Dyersburg Middle School boys and girls basketball B-teams had no problem with the competition Saturday, dominating teams from Humboldt and Union City to win the West Tennessee Athletic Conference championships.
