Federal judge approves local offer for Hoff Road building

A federal bankruptcy judge on Thursday afternoon approved the $4.5 million offer from the Dyer County Industrial Development Board for the vacant Dyersburg Corp. building on Hoff Road. The offer was tendered on June 6. The action sets the stage for St. Louis, Mo.-based Nordyne Inc. to close the deal on Aug. 15 to locate a manufacturing plant that by 2006 could bring 600 jobs to Dyer County...

Trimble to get $990,000 for new water system

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development announced Thursday that it would provide $990,000 in funding for Trimble to update its water system; $643,000 of the funding is in the form of a loan. The remaining amount is a grant. Sometime in the near future the U.S. Treasury intends to phase them out and replace them with electronic transactions.
